Within the ancient Medina walls lies a labyrinth of tightly packed roads and alleyways where houses keep cool in the shadows. Much of the main streets are given over to Souks; dense markets selling everything you can imagine from tiny shops piled to the ceilings with handmade crafts, homewares and clothes.
Each Souk specialises in various products, leather, fabric, ceramics, basket ware and thousands of sellers in each Souk will barter with your custom. So much of life goes on outside in this hot desert like climate that the Souks are full of life day and night, people watching heaven! It’s a joy to slip away from the bustling busy markets to find your way through a shadowy maze of quieter alleys ways to your Riad.
